Trail events always bring their own unique challenges, and the Pagan Trails Marathon & Half Marathon was no exception. Dartmoor in winter threw down heavy rain and a finish line that was, quite literally, underwater in places!

Despite the conditions, we adapted our setup on the fly, using protective equipment and flexible timing lines to ensure every runner was recorded accurately. The organisers at Outer Edge Events could rely on us to manage the timing while they focused on the runners and safety throughout the course.

Even in the wettest conditions, runners’ spirits stayed high, and it was fantastic to see so many finishers smiling at the line. Events like this really highlight the importance of teamwork between timing providers and organisers – careful planning and adaptability ensure a flawless experience, no matter what the weather throws at you.
